Thank You GranDi!

A big thank you to Katie's Mom Diane, aka "GranDi", as she gets ready to return home to Sacramento tomorrow. I don't know what we would have done without all of her help over the last three weeks. We are looking forward to having my folks in town for the weekend to meet their new granddaughter. GranDi and Grandpa BF will be back for a few days the following week, and then the true test begins with just Mom, Dad, and Baby in the house for awhile. The adventure continues...(!)

Thanks again GranDi...

Here are some more pictures from the last week with no particular theme.

We hope you are enjoying the pictures as much as we are. Have a great week.

Baby's first "tub" bath

Madalyn had her first bath in the baby tub this morning. It must have been very exciting because she somehow managed to poop immediately before, during, and right afterwards!! As you can see from the looks on her face, she does not seem to be completely sold on the merits of a tub bath.

Of course, we still think she's as cute as ever...

Even when she's not sleeping...

The tree has arrived and the house is all decorated, but Madalyn is pretty underwhelmed by it all...

Hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend. Enjoy the rest of the Holiday season...Christmas is right around the corner!

Two weeks? Really?

Madalyn had another check up yesterday and she is a healthy two-week old "newborn". She is up to 7 lbs 15 oz and, not surprisingly, she still does not like going to the doctor. It's hard for me to believe that she's been here for two weeks. It's been such a whirlwind that I'm not even sure if it's "only" two weeks or "already" two weeks. She is still a generally well-behaved baby and is allowing Katie to get some much-needed rest, including a long four hour block of sleep last night. Ah....sleep!

Here are a few of the most recent sleepy "faces" of Madalyn.

Everyone have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday. We are truly thankful for our happy and healthy baby as well as our loving friends and family!

Rough day

What happened to our well-behaved baby? Perhaps I spoke too soon in the last post. Madalyn kept Katie up all afternoon "cluster-feeding". Hopefully this phase will be short-lived and our sleepy little angel will return tomorrow.

Here are a few more pictures for your viewing pleasure. In the meantime, I'll be studying the "5 S's" with Dr. Harvey Karp in an effort to go back to having the "Happiest Baby on the Block".

More shots from sleepier times...

On another note, Happy Birthday to Grandpa Mike back in Springfield, MO!

UPDATE: Dad finally got Madalyn down around 7:30 pm. Mom and baby can start to get caught up on their sleep now.

Katie and I would like to say thank you for all of the nice cards and gifts we've received from friends and family. We truly appreciate your kindness.

Many of the practical gifts are already being put to good use. These were particularly fun...

We've received positive feedback regarding the blog and we're glad that everyone seems to be enjoying it. You may need to create a Google account to become a "follower" of the blog but it is a relatively painless process. Don't be afraid to give them your personal information and create an account, they probably already have it anyway!

First doctor visit and yet more pics

Madalyn paid her first visit to the doctor's office this morning and, by all accounts, she disliked it about as much as most people dislike going to see the doctor! She is healthy, has gained back an ounce from when she left the hospital, and is already an inch longer. She is been a well-behaved baby so far aside from nightly fits during the "witching hour."

She has already found a new use for the sleep sheep...

Here's the most recent picture of our family.

Hope everyone is enjoying the blog. Yours truly had to go back to work today and it's amazing how much I miss getting to spend that time with my family. There may be fewer new pictures and posts over the next couple of weeks but I will do my best to keep you all up to date.

Meeting Uncle Benjy and more pics

Madalyn met her Uncle Benjy for the first time on Saturday. Here's a pic from today.

She was clearly prepared with her "I heart my Uncle Benjy" attire.

Here's a "Dad's-eye view"  from rocking her to sleep on Saturday night. The pink tint is from one wall of the nursery.

Madalyn has no problem relaxing...

She is prone to the occassional funny face...

We can't get enough of our cute baby! More pics to come...
